World Book Day

Pupils at Woodhouse Academy celebrated World Book Day in style! Pupils were treated to an extended assembly where KS2 and KS3 pupils took part in a runway catwalk show. They showcased their outfits to a team of judges and 3 winners were selected from each year group. Costumes included: David Walliams’ Gangsta Granny, Alice in Wonderland’s Mad Hatter as well as the Cheshire Cat, Dr Seus’ Cat in the Hat, Star Wars’ Yoda and many more! Not only did the pupils celebrate this fantastic event, the staff all got involved too! Staff took part in a Mr Men and Little Miss theme, a tribute to Roger Hargreaves’ well-loved books. Lessons were also adapted to accommodate this fun-filled day. World Book Day quizzes were among the plentiful activities as well as Speed Book Dating, designing book covers and being treated to World Book Day vouchers.
