Pastoral Care
Pastoral Care
Woodhouse has a strong pastoral structure overseen by the Deputy Principal. Pupils begin and end each day with their form tutor who ideally stays with the form for their 4 years at the school. This gives the tutor the opportunity to get to know parents/carers and pupils well, deal quickly with questions and concerns, and to follow-up on any issues. Weekly PSHE is taught by form tutors to their own forms; topics are planned across year groups but tutors are able to adapt the curriculum to make it more pertinent to their own form.
There are four Key Stage Leads – Mrs McKeown and Mrs Wills for Years 5 and 6, Mrs Bowers and Miss Parkes for Years 7 and 8. These leaders run key stage assemblies, manage and support form tutors and step in to work more closely with children and parents if concerns require escalation.
